David Ford entered the UV industry in 1974 working for one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of UV and Infra-red dryers. During his employment he covered many aspects of the business ranging from assembly and wiring through to electrical design, test and R&D.

In 1984 Dave branched out on his own with Fordways Products, initially selling miniature UV dryers for glazing photos onto plates together with UV spares, power controllers and custom-built UV dryers.

By 1991 the demand for servicing of UV equipment had grown dramatically and so FPL Service was formed to service and modify all types of UV and Infrared dryers.

30 years later, Dave has over 40 years’ experience as a UV and IR engineer.

Now retired from on-site service work, he continues to give telephone and e-mail support for UV and IR problems. He carries out refurbishment of lamp heads in our workshop and can direct you to an engineer if on-site service work is required. He can also arrange upgrades or replacements for PLC’s.

In 2019 the company relocated from Maidenhead, Berkshire to the West Dorset countryside.
